Jackie H.
Name: Jackie H.
State: Texas
Job Title: ER RN
Jackie H. is a very well tenured ER RN. She's pictured here with her grandchildren, L/R: Jake, Alec, Courtney and Madison. Jackie caught "the travel bug" when her youngest child married and left home. She's been a traveler ever since.
Jackie is from Texas and relocated to West Virginia about 42 years ago. She's been a nurse for 24 years and has been traveling for approximately a year and a half now. After her youngest child left home, she and her husband had discussions over the possibility of Jackie becoming a Travel Nurse. Some of the reasons that Jackie found attractive about becoming a traveler was the money, going to different hospitals to learn various care giving techniques and to make new friends too. What Jackie discovered: "The hospital and co-workers are the only things that change. The game is the same regardless of where you go - taking care of patients." So far, she has traveled to Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia. Though she misses her family when she's gone, she claims that when she's home, she appreciates everything and everyone so much more.
When not at work, you can find Jackie reading, flower gardening and spending time with her family. Jackie's been with Cirrus her entire traveling career. She states that the best thing about working with Cirrus is the "back up" or support that you have. According to Jackie, "I've heard other travelers talk about getting to an assignment and their company just kind of "forgets" about them until time to move on. With Cirrus, if you call with a problem, someone is helping you immediately." Her advice to new travelers would be to take time to "settle in" and absorb some of the local culture. You can make lifelong friends if you choose to do so."
She also states that her husband helps make her job more interesting as well. "He's wonderful because he takes me to new assignments, helps me settle in and makes sure I can find my way back and forth to work and home. He knows I have a terrible sense of direction. With the kind of support that I get from my family and the staff of Cirrus, I plan to travel for a long time to come." We hope so too because our clients can't say enough good things about Jackie!
