Featured Travel Nurse
Name: Stephanie
Title: RN
Stephanie, from Redding Pa is an ER Nurse and started traveling in 2008. She has traveled on 3 assignments with Cirrus, starting in Pennsylvania and now she works in Asheboro, North Carolina. Stephanie travels with her 2 dogs Sammy a Bassett Hound and Bailey, a Jack Russell/Pug mix. My husband Norman is a truck driver and visits me frequently. We both have hectic schedules at this time but we manage to make it work.
Stephanie enjoys traveling because the hours and schedule are flexible. I’ve gotten so much out of traveling just from these 3 assignments. My recruiter Jill constantly emails me with any updates I need. She is like a second mother to me. She is the best recruiter I’ve ever had. Jill maintains constant communication with me whether its work related, housing (my apartment) or family. While on assignment I’ve met a ton of people- travelers and hospital employees. On my days off I like to spend as much time as I can outdoors. In Asheboro, NC I like to go to Wet and Wild and Jumbo Rapids Water Park. I also like the pool. Traveling makes me feel like I am on an extended vacation because it’s constant change.
We asked Stephanie where would she like her next assignment to be- I’d like to travel toward the Atlantic Coast but I really like North Carolina. I love the culture! The weather is great too. I have a lot of travel friends at the facility where I am working. We brainstorm as we continue grow in our field. I like to teach and be able to learn from others. We also discuss what state we’d like to travel to next, and we all agree on “warm weather”
We asked Stephanie what advice she would give to someone that is considering a career in travel- I would tell them about the risks and benefits. It’s wonderful for someone that likes change. There is so much to learn and see about people and their customs. The folks at Cirrus have made everything easy for me and I will continue to travel with Cirrus!
