Alicia G.

Name: Alicia G.
State: North Carolina
Job Title: L&D RN

In the middle of this Model Family, sits a Model Traveler, Alicia G.  This L&D RN knows how to balance motherhood AND a career on the road.  Of course, she also has the dedication of a spouse who supports her career too.  Pictured L to R, Jayla, Alicia, Jayde, LeRoy and Amaya (Jayla and Jayde are twins...can you tell why Alicia's a L&D RN now?).  Who knows where these beautiful faces will go on their next family adventure!

After being stationed in Virginia, Alicia G. left the Navy and moved back to North Carolina.  She's been in nursing for five years now and have been a travel nurse for the last eleven months.  She specialized in Labor & Delivery and performs her job beautifully!  At this point in time, Alicia and her family are only traveling throughout North Carolina, but may venture a bit further out later on.  She decided to become a Travel Nurse because she wanted to experience how other civilian hospitals operated before settling down.  She states, "I wanted to experience new places and the pay was actually a real bonus too!"  Alicia give her husband credit for being very supportive of her career decision to travel.  Both she and LeRoy decided that their family was at a point where they were able to travel together and decided to hit the road and agree that it was the right decision for them.  In between assignments and working shifts, Alicia can be found spending time with her family, scrapbooking, bowling and shopping (you nurse, you - imagine that!).  Alicia also believes that what excites her most about traveling in her career is the opportunity to meet new people while expanding her knowledge within her specialty area at the same time.  Her advice to new and experienced travelers:  "Always be open and willing to learn new things.  Every hospital has a different procedure.  Although you may know a lot, there is always something new to learn.  This experience is extremely valuable for your career.  It makes you a well rounded nurse and gives you the capabilities to work with all types of people and all types of management styles.  It also enhances your flexibility so that you can easily adapt to constant changes."  Alicia's recruiter is Gina Ludlam and Alicia states that Gina is excellent (we agree!!).  Alicia tells us, "Gina is always readily available for anything that I may need.  she looks out for my best interests and works hard to accommodate the needs of my family.  She constantly updates me on new assignments that meet my needs and she promptly submits my resume and gets me the assignments that I want."  Alicia says that Gina and many other Cirrus staff members have been wonderful to work with.  She likes working for Cirrus because we stay on top of paperwork renewals and requirements and alert her when expiring documentation is due.  "The staff is always courteous and they all work diligently to make my life on the road easier."  That's great to hear, but frankly, Alicia G. is such an incredible employee, it's all our pleasure!!
